Why am I here?
I watched a panel about "Old Internet" at a furry convention called Furry Blacklight, and it struck a chord with me. The Internet sucks; AI is running rampant and corporations have centralised everything into a few algorithms. Even web hosts suck and I moved my domain over to here when it came up for renewal. The old style chaos and freedom of the bygone Internet, or "Web 0" as the panel host put it, has been lost.
So that is why I have cracked open a text editor, started looking into webrings and took the plunge to sign up to Neocities and join the community of old Internet fanatics. Thank you Rick for the inspiration, and for a panel that I could easily translate from French despite not speaking a single word of it. :)
Hold on, you are a furry?
Yes, I am! My name is Rikev and my fursona is a white-furred arctic fox! Apparently that is quite common around these parts to pretend to be a fox on the Internet. Or a wolf. Or a cat. Or something really bizarre and wacky like a Protogen. To learn more about the community, go to WikiFur for the quick rundown.
Anything else you are into?
I play a game called Transport Fever 2 quite excessively, being a big fan of both transportation and business/colony management games. I was also heavily into Warhammer 40,000 until the COVID pandemic and stopped after prices shot up too high to continue.
I also do target shooting in my spare time and of course coding for amusement!
